Everyone Leaves a Legacy | Linda Hall

When Linda Hall started working in veterinary medicine as a teenager in the early ’90s, she didn’t know that her passion for animals—and her determination to keep learning—would one day lead her to become an Area Manager supporting multiple hospitals across Texas.

Her journey began humbly, as a kennel assistant at her local veterinary clinic. “I was thrown into everything,” Linda recalls. “From helping with surgeries to working the front desk, I learned by doing.” That early exposure shaped her resilience and fueled her drive to grow in the field.

By 2000, Linda had joined Bissonnet Southampton Veterinary Clinic (now Bissonnet Veterinary Hospital) in Houston. What began as a new opportunity soon turned into a 23-year career at the hospital. She moved into the Hospital Administrator role—despite being told early on that she “couldn’t do the job.” As Linda put it, “Challenge accepted.” Under the mentorship of her selling doctor, she grew into leadership, guided by her belief in doing the right thing and supporting her team.

When Bissonnet was acquired by Lakefield Veterinary Group in 2018, Linda became an integral part of the transition. The support she experienced during COVID was a turning point: “I will never be more thankful than I was during that time. Having a larger organization behind us made all the difference.”

One of the most meaningful initiatives of her career came in 2022, when Linda oversaw the building, moving, and merging of Bissonnet Southampton Veterinary Clinic and The Village Vet into a brand-new hospital, Bissonnet Veterinary Hospital. “It will always be my most challenging but rewarding experience,” she says. Leading a project of that scale required perseverance, coordination, and vision—qualities that have marked her entire career.

As Lakefield expanded in Texas, so did Linda’s role. She served as Senior Hospital Administrator for multiple locations before becoming Area Manager. In this role, she not only supports operations but also focuses on developing leaders. “I love to teach and share what I know,” Linda says. “Not by doing things for people, but by showing them how. Watching someone succeed and have that lightbulb moment—that’s what keeps me motivated.”

One moment that stands out in her career came during the challenges of COVID. With a new graduate doctor on staff who had missed out on surgical rotations, Linda partnered with a local rescue to host spay/neuter days. The initiative gave the young doctor invaluable experience, boosted team morale, and ultimately earned Bissonnet the Lakefield Charitable Giving Award. “I did it to help one doctor, but it ended up lifting the whole team,” Linda reflects.

Of Lakefield’s core values, “Do the Right Thing” resonates most deeply with her. “I use it daily. When decisions aren’t black and white, it’s the compass I rely on,” she explains.

Looking back, Linda hopes her legacy is one of kindness, helpfulness, and generosity. “I want to be remembered as someone who shared knowledge freely and made people’s jobs easier,” she says. Her teams may also remember her for another trademark: the food and baked treats she often brought in. “Cooking was my love language,” she laughs.

After more than two decades in the industry, Linda’s story is one of persistence, mentorship, and service. Her legacy is not only the hospitals she’s helped build and support, but the many leaders she’s trained and inspired along the way.
